Mrs. United States Day 2 - Night Out on the Town

It's our "Night Out on the Town" in Las Vegas and we are heading off to Ceasar's Palace to mingle with the crowd, photo ops and have some girly fun!!!

Mrs. United States Day 2 - Rehearsals

On Day 2, we began with the Delegate Gift Exchange! See my box of goodies? LOVE IT!!! We had a full day of rehearsals for our opening number - it will be to the Prince song "Baby I'm a Star" - very cool - I love that song, fun and upbeat!!

All the delegates brought gifts to exchange with each other. Here is what it looked like at the end of the exchange! Now that's a box of goodies - WOW!!

Mrs. United States Day 1 - Welcome Dinner

Our first night in Vegas, we all went to a "Welcome Dinner". It was very relaxing and casual, lots of talking and laughing!!

Mrs. United States Day 1 - Registration

I've arrived in Las Vegas at The Orleans Hotel & Casino, that is where the Mrs. United States Pageant will be held. Day 1 is all about getting all your paperwork in check and then meeting and greeting every delegate - the fun begins - whaaahoooo - Soooooo Exciting!!

Off to Las Vegas for the Mrs.United States Pageant!

The day has come to get on that plane and fly off to Vegas for this unbelievable opportunity to compete for the title of Mrs. United States! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to everyone who has helped, given me a boost and sent many encouraging words along the way in this journey!!! You are all the BEST and I am so extremely blessed to have you all in my life!!

Fourth of July Parade

4th of July Parade

Amherst, NH

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA! There's nothing like living in a small New England town that knows how to do things and do them with class! That's my lovely town of Amherst, NH! It was such a pleasure to be part of the parade as Mrs. New Hampshire United States! I love when I can do things in my own community and be able to have my family be a part of it with me - that's the BEST! The organizers of the parade along with all thier volunteers were fabulous! First of all, we had SUN!!!! After a completely rainy June, there was Sun and people were out to enjoy every bit of it because this parade has something for everyone! There was a dog parade, bicycle parade, animals, artists, politicians greeting folks, civic and community groups and of course lots of fun things for the kids and tons of yummy foods all in the village green area - FUN, FUN, FUN!!! Happy 4th of July to everyone, God Bless America and all the service men and women that have helped and continue to help keep our United States of America safe, strong and proud!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Nashua, NH

I had first heard about Big Brothers Big Sisters by Michelle Sharpe, Mrs. New Hampshire United States 2008. She was a HUGE supporter of their mission. Today, I had the incredible opportunity of meeting directly with Joy Barrett, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Nashua, NH. She and her staff welcomed me and my daughters with open arms. JOY was a "joy",what a wonderful woman with a true passion for what she does!

What is Big Brothers Big Sisters? It is an organization whose mission for over 25 years has been about making a positive difference in the lives of children. This mission is accomplished through professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships between caring, committed volunteers and children who are in need of a positive role model. BBBS of Greater Nashua provides mentoring programs to children living in 13 different towns. In 2008, volunteers mentored 369 children and provided 26,568 hours of friendship to children in their community. As Joy stated, "mentoring can have a life changing effect on a child - improving their ability to relate to peers and other adults and assisting them in becoming confident, caring and competent members of our community".
